Big Worm From “Friday” Accused of Assault & Battery

Actor Faizon Love, best known for playing Big Worm in Friday, is facing a lawsuit from an L.A. stage manager who claims he got rough with her after she rejected his sexual advances.

According to TMZ, stage manger Beatrice Eliza filed a lawsuit against Love in Los Angeles County Superior Court yesterday (June 5). Eliza claims Love groped her after she picked him up from Burbank Airport in March, and refused to stop “until she threatened to kick him out of the car.”

In her lawsuit, Eliza says the actor “barbarically assaulted and battered her.” In addition to the groping, she alleges that several days following the initial incident, the two got into a shouting match on the set of their production, ironically titled Irresponsible Behavior, that eventually became violent.

Eliza says the argument began over a bathroom key before escalating into shouting, cursing and threats. Besides chairs being thrown, Eliza also says Love grabbed a Louis Vuitton handbag he thought was hers and “attempted to throw it out of the second story window.” After a producer on set intervened, informing Love that the bag was not Eliza’s, the actor picked up Eliza’s Gucci handbag and tossed the it out the window. Eliza’s attorney says his client then dialed 911 and LAPD officers arrived on the scene shortly afterward.

Eliza claims she has “suffered great mental, physical and nervous pain” as a result of the alleged incident and is suing for unspecified damages.

Afro-Cuban actor Faizon Love has been in such films as A Thin Line Between Love and Hate, Don’t Be A Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice In The Hood, The Players Club, B*A*P*S, Money Talks, 3 Strikes, and Idlewild. He has also appeared on television, including “That’s So Raven,” “The Parent Hood” and “The Wayans Bros.”

In an unexpected turn of events, The Game has officially released these tracks for paid download. Go to http://www.amiestreet.com/thegame to download the tracks and support The Game.

Chris Brown Calls Himself ‘R&B Tupac’

During his set at Hot 97’s Summer Jam on Sunday in East Rutherford, New Jersey, Chris Brown pulled out a red jacket similar to the one Michael Jackson wore in the “Thriller” video, donned a sparkly white glove and paid homage to the King of Pop.

Instead of imitating Jackson onstage Brown might soon get to perform with him. Brown is trying to get MJ to sing on a Will.I.Am-produced track that would appear on the teen sensation’s second album, Exclusive, due August 28.

“He called me for my birthday, and I told him we should do a song,” Brown said. “He was up for it.

“Man, it was crazy,” Brown continued. “He actually spoke to me like a regular person, and he was like, ‘I like your music.’ He said his favorite song was ‘Shorty Like Mine’ that me and Bow Wow did. I appreciated talking to him.”

Lil Wayne, Juelz Santana (“Those are my brothers from another mother,” Brown said) and the Game are just a few other strong candidates to appear on the album, while Tank, T-Pain and Will.I.Am have already put their stank on Brown’s new body of work.

“I’m gonna work with Timbaland and Justin Timberlake, so I’m probably gonna do something with Justin [singing on it],” Brown revealed. “Me and Scott Storch did a record, and we was gonna put Game’s verse on it, but we don’t know if we gonna use that record yet. I got collaborations with Mary Mary. I got a song called ‘Throwed’ with Bryan-Michael Cox that’s crazy. I got this Will.I.Am record me and Tank wrote called ‘Picture Perfect’ and this other one called ‘Kiss Kiss’ I wrote with T-Pain that T-Pain produced.”

Brown said “Kiss Kiss” will definitely make it onto the album. “At first we was making it a little grown, but my manager shut it down,” he said of the song. “First [the lyrics] was ‘She’s chunky, chunky/ She’s thick, thick.’ But we said, ‘Nah, we not gonna do that.’ We gotta keep it PG-13 at least. The beat is a hard beat. We changed it to ‘She wants that lovey dovey/ That kiss, kiss/ In her mind, she fantasize about getting with me/ ‘Cause they hating on me/ They wanna dis, dis, but she’s fine, so fine/ And thick as can be.’ It’s a real chanting record.

“I call me and T-Pain ‘the Dynamic Underdogs,’ ” he added. “Both of us are on the same label, we came out at the same time and we’re trying to take it over. I respect him, he respects me. We did a tour early. We already know how to grind as new artists, so we know how to stay focused. He’s one of my closest friends — he’s down-to-earth. We did two records together that’s crazy. It was fun in the studio. We knocked all our songs off in two hours.”

Brown’s wish list for his tour, which kicks off in October, includes Pain, Rihanna, Bow Wow and Lil Wayne. He says he wants Exclusive to show the maturity in his voice. For inspiration, he’s listened to a lot of gospel, including the Clark Sisters, KiKi Sheard and Kim Burrell. He also has had a lot more input on the record in terms of production and songwriting.

“The freedom making this album is just me being able to write a lot more,” he said. “I wrote almost every song. I think I’m writing about the same topics [as the last album] but just a little older. I’m not leaving my kid audience, but I’m being who I am and just going in and having fun.”

Brown has recorded dozens of records for the album and will narrow them down to the best of the best this summer. “I’m trying to be the R&B Tupac,” he said. “I’m trying to make as many records as I can so when I’m out of this world, y’all can still have music from me nobody has heard yet.”

That kind of thinking propelled Brown to come up with the album’s title.

“First of all, the title sounds dope,” he said. “The title is hot. But at the same time, ‘exclusive’ is something everybody can’t get. So when people do get it, it’s special to them.”

Rapper 50 Cent has set up a new high-end boutique where folks can immerse themselves in the promotion of his upcoming album, “Curtis.” But there’s a catch – the shop is located in a virtual universe.

Zwinktopia, the fashion-conscious virtual community from IAC/InterActiveCorp, has struck a deal with 50 to launch a boutique that will plug his upcoming September release, reports Reuters. The virtual store will allow Zwinky members to dress up characters in 50 Cent gear for free and provide a chance to listen to forthcoming tracks from “Curtis.”

Elsewhere in Zwinktopia, a separate virtual store for bands represented by merchandiser Bravado International Group will charge users for a Ramones T-shirt, or other goods, in the virtual Zwinky currency, known as Zbucks.

Users can win Zbucks by playing online games, but eventually the Web site will offer the opportunity to buy Zbucks with money as well. Ultimately, Zwinktopia aims to create a marketplace for virtual and real merchandise among one of the most sought-after audiences for advertisers — teenagers and young adults.

“Our users have asked for everything from fashion brands like Prada and Juicy Couture, as well as more entertainment entities,” said Scott Garell, chief executive of IAC’s consumer applications and portals division.

Ja-Rule Promotes Gang Intervention

Ja-Rule may have been a bit distant from music lately, however, he has been involved in the community. He, along with Erica Ford, Executive Director of LIFE Camp Inc. (a non-profit organization co-founded with the GRAMMY Award winning rapper) and community organizer Al Kanu, have launched a city-wide (New York City) gang intervention and prevention campaign Saturday, with a town hall meeting.

Participants in the forum included Idris Elba, Hassaan Johnson (Wee-Bee from The Wire), Ed Lover, Cheryl “Salt” James-Wray, Ja-Rule, Setwya Shakur (Tupac’s sister), Chaz Williams (CEO of Black Hand Entertainment) and rapper True Life.

Participants in the open forum discussed what they see as some of the main problems in society.

“One thing I can’t stand, is to celebrate the negative in our culture,” said Idris Elba. “You were given one brain to figure out how to make your own steps.”
Ja-Rule agreed, “The biggest problem is ourselves.”

When asked about the motivation behind this campaign, Ford answered, “At LIFE Camp, we have always been committed to young people, even the ones that society has abandoned. Gangs stay active in our communities because many young people don’t believe that they have other options. With the Repping for LIFE campaign, we’re showing and giving other real options.” She adds, “It’s time to love LIFE, not death. Together, we can help end street violence and build a better future.”

R. Kelly finds himself in a familiar spot atop The Billboard 200 with “Double Up,” his sixth No. 1 on the tally. The Jive set moved 386,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan, aided by the popularity of his new single “I’m a Flirt,” which peaked at No. 2 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Each of Kelly’s 10 studio albums have reached either No. 1 or No. 2 on the big chart.

After debuting at No. 1 last week, Maroon 5’s A&M/Octone effort “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long” slips to No. 2 with 172,000, a 60% sales hit. Another former chart-topper, Linkin Park’s “Minutes to Midnight” (Machine Shop/Warner Bros.), falls 2-3 with 126,000 (-36%).

“Ring The Alarm Man,” Swizz Beatz Album Pushed Back

Fans expecting to hear Swizz Beatz’ new album this July will have to be a little more patient, as the super producer’s solo set has been pushed back to a later summer release.

Originally set to hit shelves on July 17, Swizz’ One Man Band Man will now make its way to record stores on August 23, according to label reps. While no official word has been given as to the reason behind the delay, some are speculating that Swizzy needed more time to put the finishing touches on the album after a bout with meningitis that briefly sent him to the hospital last month.

Swizz is currently enjoying the success of his single “It’s Me Snitches” while his latest record, “Money In The Bank” is also beginning to generate a good amount of radio play.

He also further heightened fans’ anticipation for the album with a memorable set at this year’s Hot 97 Summer Jam, in which he was involved in an impromptu beat battle with WindyCity rapper/producer Kanye West.

The album is said to feature a long list of guest spots from artists including Cassidy, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, DMX, Coldplay, Kanye West, Nas, Ciara, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana and wife, R&B singer Mashonda. While Swizz did a healthy dose of the beats on the disc, he also enlisted producers Buckwild and Just Blaze to lend a hand with the tracks.
